Safety Improvement Sheet No. 09 – Power Management System (PMS)
An onboard Power Management System (PMS) is a crucial component of the ship’s electrical and automation infrastructure. An electrical fault in the PMS can cause damage, such as a blackout, which in one case led to a collision. Therefore, it is recommended to check before departure whether the PMS is correctly configured according to the standard operating configuration.
