Ship Security Plan, Cyber Security measures and Cross Reference for Download
We have been informed that classification societies are investigating on behalf of the Netherlands Flag Administration which vessels hold a Ship Security Plan (SSP) with a cross reference to the Safety Management System (SMS)’ s cyber security policy:
Quote “Could you please indicate for the following ships, if the SSP addresses cyber security measures or that it holds a cross reference to the SMS’s cyber security policy. In the latter case, please send us the declaration which was issued by the Company Security Officer (CSO) and annexed to the SSP.” Unquote.
We have made a Cross Reference Declaration template for the Company’s Cyber Security Management, which can be downloaded here. This template is consistent with the approach accepted by many Recognized Security Organizations (RSOs) and Flag Administrations. It allows the SSP to remain a security-sensitive document while avoiding duplication of Cyber Security procedures that are already controlled within the SMS.
