Updated description Near Coastal Voyages functions

Kiwa Register has updated the footnote description for functions within the designated Near Coastal Voyages (NCV) operating areas. This description applies to NCV functions within the Dutch territorial sea (TZ) and the Dutch Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ). The update was developed in consultation with the maritime sector and in coordination with the Human Environment and Transport Inspectorate (ILT) and the Ministry.

This change better reflects day-to-day operational practice and the needs of the maritime sector. Its aim is to provide greater clarity regarding the privileges and operational scope of seafarers within the relevant operating areas. This clarification is expected to provide seafarers, shipping companies and other stakeholders with greater certainty when determining whether seafarers can be deployed within the NCV operating areas.

New footnote:
* Limited to maritime areas near the coast of the Netherlands, including the territorial sea, the contiguous zone of the territorial sea, and the Dutch Exclusive Economic Zone, as well as the waters of states that have entered into an agreement as referred to in Article I/3 or that otherwise recognize the use of such a certificate.
