Areas of attention for ships under the Dutch flag
For vessels sailing under the flag of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, specific points of attention apply regarding safety, the environment, and compliance with international regulations. The Dutch maritime authorities, including the Human Environment and Transport Inspectorate (ILT), monitor compliance with national and international obligations by shipowners and crews and have published a summary.
Important points of attention include the correct implementation of international treaties such as the SOLAS Convention, the MARPOL Convention, and the STCW Convention. In addition, extra attention is required for the functioning of the safety management system on board, compliance with crew regulations, and the correct administration of certificates and logbooks.
