Revised IMO guidelines embarkation and disembarkation
The International Maritime Organisation (IMO) has revised the Guidelines for the Construction, Installation, Maintenance and Inspection/Survey of Means of Embarkation and Disembarkation (gangways).
Through MSC.1/Circ.1331/Rev.1, it is the aim to bring the Guidelines in line with the latest international standards and introduce clearer definitions and safety practices. Several ISO standards have been used for new definitions, such as ‘Safety Net’, but there are also Mandatory safety practices added.
