Revised IMO measures for entry into confined spaces on board ships
The International Maritime Organization (IMO) has published Resolution MSC.581(110), which provides revised recommendations for entering confined spaces on board ships. The measures in Resolution MSC.581(110) include clarifying responsibilities for the safety and training of the crew, strengthening the use of portable gas detection equipment, updating rescue procedures in confined spaces, and maintaining a ship-specific register of confined spaces on board.
