Ship Security Officer – Company Security Officer
Mandatory for
Officers on an ISPS ship in charge of the security organisation on board as required by SOLAS and the ISPS Code.
Required qualifications
Participants must be at least 18 years old, be able to show at least one year’s experience of sailing at sea and have a reasonable knowledge of the English language.
STCW code
STCW, Regulation VI/5, paragraph 1 and 2 and section A-V1/5.
Content
The course consists of the following parts:
- 16 hours of theoretical training and scenario training (practical exercises)
- Security of the ship
- Maintenance of the ship security plan
Company security officer:
This training is given in combination with the ship security officer training.
Duration
2 days.
N.B. The number of hours may vary slightly depending on the number of participants, their level of education, nationalities and spoken languages.
Course time schedule
8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
A suitable date will be agreed upon with the client.
Course completion
Upon satisfactory completion of the course an official STCW certificate will be issued and a signed entry will be made in the Seaman’s book.
Particularities
Prices are per person and include all training materials and certificates. Refreshments are included and in the case of a full day’s training lunch will be provided. All prices are exclusive of VAT (21%). For groups of 5 participants or more we can offer a discount. The minimum number of participants per training is 5 and the maximum is 24.
