Mandatory for

This training is mandatory for masters, chief engineer officer, chief mates, second engineer officers and every person assigned immediate responsibility for embarking and disembarking passengers, for loading, discharging or securing cargo, or for closing hull openings on board RORO passenger ships.

Required qualifications

No specific requirements have been set.

ID-check

• After finishing the assessment you are required to do an electronic ID check using your mobile phone
• This ID check is required by the Netherlands Shipping Inspectorate
• The ID check is carried out by a third party in the EU and is General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) compliant
• Only after ID approval we will issue your certificate within 3 working days.

System requirements

PC with stable internet connection. A phone with camera for ID check.

Content

• STCW – a short introduction and case histories
• Loading and embarkation procedures
• Ro-ro deck atmosphere
• Carrying dangerous goods
• Securing cargoes
• Stability, trim and stress calculations
• Opening, closing and securing hull openings

Assessment

The assessment consists of 20 multiple-choice questions and 5 open questions. The pass grade is 70 percent. Students who do not pass can review the course content and retake the assessment up to a maximum of 2 times. NOTE: The online test results should not be older than three months when applying for the certificate.

Duration

The approximate duration of the course is between 3 and 4 hours.

Certificate

To receive a certificate Passenger Safety, Carco Safety & Hull Integrity the following steps should be completed:

• Create an account or log in if you already have an account. We offer company codes for companies that take multiple courses. We are happy to inform you about this possibility.
• Select and purchase the correct training
• Read the content of the training
• Take the online assessment with multiple-choice questions
• Answer the 5 open questions
• After finishing the assessment you are required to do an electronic ID check
• Only after approval we will issue your certificate within 3 working days. Please note that if you did the training through a company code, the certificate will be sent to your company.
