Mandatory for

Masters, chief engineer officers, chief mates, second engineer officers and any person designated on the muster list of having responsibility for the safety of passengers in emergency situations on board passenger ships.

Required qualifications

No specific requirements have been set.

ID-Check

• After finishing the assessment you are required to do an electronic ID check using your mobile phone
• This ID check is required by the Netherlands Shipping Inspectorate
• The ID check is carried out by a third party in the EU and is General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) compliant
• Only after ID approval we will issue your certificate within 3 working days

Content

The training course Passenger Ship Crisis Management and Human Behaviour covers the following:

• Organisation and handling in emergency situations, incl. decision making
• Understand the importance of training, drills and exercises
• Lead and take influence on persons in emergency situations
• Improve your communication skills and understand stress and its effects in emergency situations

Assessment

Once you have completed all chapters you will be able to take the assessment.

Please read the assessment instructions carefully. The assessment consists of 25 multiple-choice questions, the pass grade is 70 %.
Students who do not pass are able to review the course content and retake the assessment two times.

Duration

Approximately 10 to 12 hours.

Certificate

To receive a certificate Passenger Ship Crisis Management and Human Behaviour the following steps should be completed:

• Create an account or log in. For companies that want to purchase multiple training courses for crew, we offer company codes. We are happy to inform you about this option.
• Select and purchase the correct training;
• Read the content of the training;
• Take the online assessment with 25 multiple-choice questions;
• You will receive an email with your certificate within a few minutes;
• After finishing the assessment you are required to do an electronic ID check;
• Only after ID approval we will issue your hard-copy certificate within 3 working days.
