Herewith, we hope to promote the limited flow of new and experienced crew members to seagoing (professional) sailing vessels.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>Expansion of Rood Boven Groen with Willem Starke<\/h2>\n<p>Since the 28th of January, our office welcomed a new college, Willem Starke. Willem will focus on ISM and ISPS activities for the merchant shipping and training, with which he can take over a number of tasks from Stephan. He has more than 20 years of experience in the shipping industry (Maritime officer, Class surveyor, technical\/operational manager) and with his knowledge, we also expect to be able to fill in the, increasingly heard, demand for technical and operational support.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>MLC Guideline Harassment and Bullying in force<\/h2>\n<p>Since the 8th of January 2019 the revised MLC Guidelines B4.3.1 and B4.3.6 came into force worldwide.<\/p>\n<p>The guidelines concern the development of policy in the field of bullying and harassment onboard ships. These changes are of no influence on Dutch vessels because the Dutch Arbo (Labor circumstances) legislation has already included provisions to implement a policy aimed at preventing or limiting &#8220;psychosocial workload&#8221;. Employers already had to include this in their RI &amp; E earlier. Moreover, this subject was included in the House Rules of the SMS of Rood Boven Groen a few years ago.<\/p>\n<p>We advise everyone to bring this subject to the attention again.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>Bunker delivery note amendments<\/h2>\n<p>From the 1st of January 2019, new requirements for bunker delivery notes came into force. It is a supplement to Appendix V of MARPOL Annex VI (Information to be included in the bunker delivery note).
