Since it was first published in 2013, this handbook has been renowned for its clear and practical explanation of maritime legislation.<\/p>\n<p>NVKK offers the new edition to be downloaded for free on their <a href=\"https:\/\/nvkk.nl\/nl\/legal-handbook-shipmaster-handleiding-piraterij-kapitein\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">site<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h1><span style=\"color: #c3191a;\">8th revision of NSI covid-19 contingency plan published<\/span><\/h1>\n<p>The Dutch Shipping Inspectorate (NSI) has published the 8th revision of their covid-19 contingency plan. It will enter into force on January 1, 2022.<\/p>\n<p>Many of the provisions that were published in previous versions will be scaled down or cancelled by this revision. Among other things, this means that the validity of CoC\u2019s and training certificates will no longer be extended. Download the plan <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ilent.nl\/onderwerpen\/coronavirus-en-zeescheepvaart\/documenten\/publicaties\/2021\/12\/08\/contingency-plan-covid-19-the-netherlands---01-01-2022-until-31-03-2022\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h1><span style=\"color: #c3191a;\">Medical chest requirements have been updated<\/span><\/h1>\n<p>Appendix 5 of the Dutch Regulation Safety Seagoing Vessels (Regeling Veiligheid Zeeschepen), in which the requirements for medical supplies on board seagoing ships are listed, has been updated. Amongst other changes, a malaria test has been added, however condoms have been taken out. The difference between the new and the old version can be viewed <a href=\"https:\/\/wetten.overheid.nl\/BWBR0017728\/2021-11-20?VergelijkMet=BWBR0017728%3fg%3d2019-12-21%26v%3d0#Bijlage5\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">here<\/a> (in Dutch).<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h1><span style=\"color: #c3191a;\">Passenger ship drill requirements regarding davit-launchable liferafts<\/span><\/h1>\n<p>Although previously mentioned in ItoRO no. 12,<a href=\"https:\/\/puc.overheid.nl\/nsi\/doc\/PUC_1346_14\/5\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> this news letter<\/a> by the Dutch Shipping Inspectorate once again pointed our attention to the requirements for drills regarding davit-launchable liferafts.
