A review of these requirements resulted in re-considering all the advancements in technology and satellite service providers.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>IMO has recognized Inmarsat and Iridium to provide satellite communication systems for use in the GMDSS.<\/li>\n<li>The definition of \u2018Sea Area A3\u2019 has changed (is now including coverage of Recognized mobile satellite service).<\/li>\n<li>The function of NBDP (Narrow Band Direct Printing) for MF\/HF radio installation is no longer required.
