It covers the territorial seas and Exclusive Economic Zones (EEZs) of\u00a0Greenland, Iceland, the Faroe Islands, Ireland, the United Kingdom, France, Spain and Portugal, extending up to\u00a0200 nautical miles\u00a0from their baselines. Together with existing ECAs, it forms an almost continuous emission-controlled shipping corridor across the Northern Hemisphere.For shipowners and operators, the key implications are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Compliance with the\u00a00.10% sulphur fuel limit\u00a0within the ECA.<\/li>\n<li>NOx Tier III\u00a0requirements for applicable newbuildings.<\/li>\n<li>Review of\u00a0voyage planning, bunker procurement, scrubber strategies and charterparty clauses\u00a0well before 2028.<\/li>\n<li>Immediate consideration of the new requirements for vessels currently under design or construction.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>While\u00a0MEPC 84\u00a0did not finalize the IMO&#8217;s Net-Zero framework, it significantly expanded the geographical scope of emission control regulations, making
